CEO Reveals Adani Defence’s 10-Year Plan

Adani Defence and Aerospace is set to make big investments in the defence sector in the next 10 years, according to its CEO Ashish Rajvanshi. The company aims to support the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and achieve self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

Adani Defence and Aerospace: A Key Player in Defence Manufacturing

Adani Defence and Aerospace, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, is one of the leading private defence companies in India. The company has partnered with several global defence firms to offer cutting-edge solutions for the Indian armed forces, paramilitary forces and police.

The company has recently inaugurated two mega facilities to manufacture ammunition and missiles. The facility in Kanpur, spread over 500 acres, is set to become one of the largest integrated ammunition manufacturing complexes in the world. It will produce high-quality small, medium and large-calibre ammunition for various platforms and applications.

The facility in Hyderabad, spread over 50 acres, is dedicated to design and manufacture advanced missile systems. It will also house a state-of-the-art research and development centre for missile technologies.

Adani Defence and Aerospace: A Vision for Self-Reliance

Ashish Rajvanshi, the CEO of Adani Defence and Aerospace, said that the company is committed to complementing the government’s efforts towards ‘Make in India’, noting that ‘everyone will have to work together’ to realise the desired goal.

“We are going to make big investments in the defence sector in the next 10 years,” he said at NDTV’s ‘Defence Summit’ on Thursday . Rajvanshi, however, did not elaborate on the investments.

He said that India has been dependent on defence imports for a long time, but the situation has changed in the last five years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

“India is currently the fifth largest economy in the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasised on ‘self-reliant India’. The steps taken by the government towards making India self-reliant in the defence sector are yielding good results,” he said.

He also cited various policy initiatives taken by the government in the last three years to promote indigenisation, such as providing space to private defence industries, encouraging startups, MSMEs and innovation, simplifying procurement procedures and increasing export opportunities.

“There has been a big change in the policies to promote indigenisation in the last three years – how can we promote our industry – now everyone is working in this direction,” he said.

He also said that a road map will have to be made and work will have to be done accordingly, adding ‘this will get everyone’s support’.

Adani Defence and Aerospace: A Future of Innovation and Excellence

Adani Defence and Aerospace is not only focused on manufacturing, but also on developing new technologies and capabilities for the defence sector. The company has given modern drones to the Navy, which can be used in both civil and defence domains. It is also working on various projects related to aerospace engineering, unmanned aerial systems, radar systems, electronic warfare systems and naval systems.

The company is also keen to export its products and services to other countries, leveraging its global partnerships and quality standards.

“Now we will also be able to export ammunition,” Rajvanshi said.

He also praised the role of DRDO in supporting the private defence industry. DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat said at the summit that his organisation does not differentiate between private and public sector.

“We give equal opportunity to everyone. Our technologies are for everyone,” he said .

Adani Defence and Aerospace is poised to become a major player in the defence sector, with its vision of self-reliance, innovation and excellence.
