Genesys International’s Groundbreaking Journey in Creating India’s Advanced Map Stack

Genesys International, a prominent Indian mapping company, has embarked on a transformative journey to propel the development of India’s first comprehensive map stack. This initiative is marked by the establishment of an Executive Innovation Board (EIB), which integrates the expertise of sectoral specialists from diverse domains such as mobility, e-commerce and logistics, and the automotive sector. The board’s primary focus is on steering Genesys towards developing innovative solutions tailored to India’s specific consumer and infrastructure needs, particularly in the e-commerce/logistics, mobility, and automotive sectors.

The EIB at Genesys comprises notable experts in their respective fields. This includes Rajiv Dinesh, a location intelligence expert with a background in data science and AI product development, and Navin Paul, an automotive expert with significant experience in both Bosch and Honda Motors, and a role in India’s Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. Another key member is Dhruva Rajan, the former CEO of Ola Maps, bringing in-depth expertise in the mobility sector. The collective insights and experience of these professionals are instrumental in refining Genesys’ navigation products for automobile OEMs and advancing the company’s New India Map stack strategy.

In addition to forming the EIB, Genesys International has also entered into a strategic alliance with the Survey of India (SOI), the country’s national surveying and mapping authority. This collaboration is a part of the India Map Stack initiative, which aims to transform the country’s map content significantly. It leverages Genesys’s highly accurate navigable maps that span the entirety of India, a constellation of sensors, and SOI’s recently launched CORS network for real-time high-precision positioning data. This partnership will enable the creation of digital twins of major cities and towns, providing high-precision 3D data, digital terrain models, digital surface models, and orthoimagery. This comprehensive dataset is pivotal for creating detailed and accurate urban representations.

Genesys International has been acclaimed for its contributions to the field, developing fully navigable road datasets that cover 8.5 million kilometers, feature 40 million points of interest, and include an unprecedented one million kilometers of 360-degree panoramic imagery across Indian towns and cities. Utilizing its constellation of Lidar and optical sensors, Genesys is at the forefront of digital twin and 3D map creation. The integration of CORS data from SOI will enhance the precision of these digital twins, enabling applications in urban planning, telecom signal assessment, disaster management, and infrastructure development with highly accurate and reliable geospatial insights.

This holistic approach by Genesys International, incorporating both internal expertise and external collaborations, signifies a significant leap in India’s geospatial capabilities, catering to the evolving needs of its population and infrastructure.
