The technology transfer took place during the launch event of the “Digital India FutureLABS Summit 2024” held at IIIT-Delhi on February 5, 2024.

What is SAFEETY?

SAFEETY is a smart and efficient system for storing food grains in warehouses. It consists of conveyorized loading and unloading of grain bags having RFID for traceability, online weight and moisture measurement with radio frequency based removal of moisture from grain. The system can handle almost one truckload (approx. weight: 28 tons) of grains in 40 minutes.

Why is it important?

SAFEETY is a step towards fostering innovation and advancing technology in India, especially in the agriculture sector. It can also contribute to the Digital India vision of transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.

Who are the stakeholders?

The technology for SAFEETY has been developed by SAMEER, an autonomous R&D institute under MeitY, with support from the Department of Food and Public Distribution. The technology has been transferred to Paras Defense, a company that specializes in defense and space technologies, for manufacturing and supply of the systems.
