PM Modi UAE Visit: UPI, CBSE, and BAPS Highlights

PM Modi concluded his two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday, where he met with the top leadership of the country, addressed the World Government Summit in Dubai, inaugurated the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi and launched several initiatives to boost cooperation in various fields.

Here are some of the highlights of PM Modi UAE visit:

PM Modi UPI launch in UAE

PM Modi launched the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) system in the UAE, which will enable Indian expatriates to send money to India using their smartphones. The UPI system is a digital payment platform that allows users to transfer money instantly between bank accounts without any intermediary. PM Modi said that the launch of UPI in the UAE will enhance the ease of living and ease of doing business for Indians in the Gulf country.

CBSE affiliation for schools in UAE

PM Modi also announced that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will grant affiliation to schools in the UAE that follow the Indian curriculum. He said that this will benefit thousands of Indian students who study in these schools and help them pursue higher education in India. He also said that India will facilitate the recognition of UAE academic qualifications in India.

BAPS temple inauguration

PM Modi inaugurated the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, which is expected to be completed by 2025. The temple will be spread over 14 acres of land and will have seven towers representing the seven emirates of the UAE. PM Modi said that the temple will be a symbol of universal values and harmony between India and the UAE.

Bilateral meeting with UAE President

PM Modi held a bilateral meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, and discussed ways to further deepen, expand and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. The two leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, including Afghanistan, Yemen, Iran and Palestine. They also witnessed the signing of a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) between India and the UAE, which will provide legal protection and dispute resolution mechanism for investors from both countries.

Keynote address at World Government Summit

PM Modi delivered a special keynote address at the World Government Summit in Dubai, where he shared his vision of good governance and inclusive development. He said that India is on a transformative journey under his government’s motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ (Together with all, Development for all, Trust of all). He highlighted India’s achievements in various sectors such as digital economy, renewable energy, space exploration, healthcare and social welfare. He also called for greater cooperation among nations to tackle global challenges such as climate change, terrorism and pandemics.
