What to Expect from the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024: Key Highlights and Themes

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, which started in 2003 as an initiative to attract investments in the state, has now become one of the most prominent global forums for business networking, knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships for inclusive growth and sustainable development.

The tenth edition of the summit, which will be held from 10th to 12th January 2024 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, will celebrate 20 years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success. The summit will also showcase Gujarat’s achievements, strengths and preparedness to lead the visions of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

Gujarat’s G20 Connect
One of the key features of the summit will be Gujarat’s G20 Connect, which will highlight the state’s alignment with the national priorities and themes of G20, such as climate change, digital economy, health care, women empowerment and sustainable development.

The summit will also host various seminars and events on topics such as food security, advanced technology, startups and innovation, health care and life science, sustainability and others. These seminars will provide a platform for experts, policymakers, industry leaders and stakeholders to exchange ideas, insights and best practices.

Gujarat: Front-Runner towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047
Another highlight of the summit will be Gujarat: Front-Runner towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047, which will showcase the state’s roadmap to achieve the national goals of becoming a $5 trillion economy by 2025 and a $10 trillion economy by 2030.

The summit will also feature a session on Gujarat’s Roadmap to Viksit Bharat @ 2047, where the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel will share his vision and strategy for the state’s development in the next 25 years.

Vibrant Gujarat-Vibrant Districts
As a precursor to the summit, a programme called Vibrant Gujarat-Vibrant Districts will be organized in October 2023 across all 32 districts of Gujarat. The programme will include exhibitions, credit-linkage seminars, export seminars and ODOP (One District One Product) bazaar. The programme will aim to promote local products, entrepreneurship and innovation at the district level.

Iconic Investments Sectors
The summit will also showcase Gujarat’s iconic investment sectors, such as agro and food processing, automobiles and auto components, ceramics, chemicals and petrochemicals, gems and jewellery, pharmaceuticals, ports and maritime, textiles, garments and apparel.

The summit will also highlight Gujarat’s emerging sectors, such as renewable energy, biotechnology, defence and aerospace, electric vehicles, information technology and information technology enabled services (IT/ITeS), tourism and hospitality.

Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024
Along with the summit, a trade show will be held from 9th January 2024 at Helipad Ground in Gandhinagar. The trade show will showcase ‘TECHADE and Disruptive Technologies’ with a focus on champion services sector including Digital India initiatives, India Stack, emerging technologies (Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, AI/ML etc.), smart infrastructure/smart cities, consumer technology as well as application of technology in various service sectors such as financial services, healthcare, education, environment etc.

The trade show will also provide an opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to interact with potential buyers, investors and partners from across the world.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 is expected to attract over 50,000 delegates from more than 100 countries. The summit will be inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 10 January 2024.

Some statistics about the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit:

  • The first edition in 2003 attracted only a few hundred participants; today more than 40,000 participants and delegates and 135 countries take part in the summit.
  • The number of exhibitors has also increased from 30 in 2003 to more than 2000 today.
  • During the Vibrant Summit series from 2003 to 2019 , thousands of MOUs were signed worth over USD $1 trillion.
