How to apply for Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana?
To apply for Yojana, one has to visit the official website pmsuryaghar.gov.in and follow these steps:
- Register in the portal with the following details: state, district, city/town/village, pin code, name, mobile number, email id, Aadhaar number, electricity consumer number and type of connection.
- Select the rooftop solar system size based on the available roof area and electricity consumption. The portal will show the estimated cost, subsidy amount and loan amount for the selected system size.
- Choose a solar installer from the list of empanelled vendors on the portal. The portal will also show the ratings and reviews of the vendors.
- Submit the application form along with the required documents such as proof of identity, proof of address, proof of ownership of roof, electricity bill and bank account details.
- After verification of the application, the subsidy amount will be transferred to the bank account of the applicant and the loan amount will be disbursed to the solar installer.
- The solar installer will install the rooftop solar system within 30 days of receiving the loan amount and obtain a completion certificate from the local authority.
- The applicant will start receiving free electricity up to 300 units per month from the rooftop solar system.
